Rich Strolis joins CCG Pro Staff

Clear Cure Goo is very proud to announce the addition of fly tyer and angler Rich Strolis to the CCG Pro Staff. A commercial tyer with twenty-five years at the vise, Rich brings his broad and effective tying style to the CCG team.

"I merge a lot of synthetics with natural materials to bring life to the flies I tie and sell.  I work a lot with dubbing brushes, loops and split thread techniques as I think it helps build durable flies and can also maximize movement out of some materials," Rich said about his tying style.

Rich is a self-confessed junkie for slab browns on meaty subsurface patterns (see Rich's video for his Headbanger Sculpin below for proof), but he ranks "steelhead and Alaskan rainbows a close second." He calls the Farmington River his home waters but also spends a lot of time in western Massachusetts due to growing up there.

When asked about how he uses Clear Cure Goo, he replied "CCG has made my life much easier as a commercial custom fly tyer as I no longer worry about working times, or mixing two part epoxy any more. Just apply, tweak it and hit it with the torch and the fly is done."

Rich fills custom commercial fly orders though his website, Catching Shadows. There you can contact Rich, view more of his fly creations, and place orders.
